North West Lightning Protection has a dedicated team of inspection and testing engineers who are experienced in performing detailed testing and inspection checks on all your lightning protection systems.
To ensure that all lightning protection systems are effective all year round it is recommended that inspections are carried out every 11 months in accordance with the Electricity at Work Act 1989.
During testing our operatives will inspect the condition of all conductors, clamps, bonded connections and record each individual earth reading. Any recommendations will be detailed within our report that is tailor made to suit the type of system installed and building.
The reason for the rigorous testing and inspection is to ensure that the system is properly maintained, if it is not then it can be ineffective in discharging lightning safely to ground; or prevent currents and overvoltage from damaging electrical systems and equipment.
North West Lightning Protection will also provide certificates of inspection detailing our findings, plus details of any repairs required to return systems to a serviceable condition.
